Introducing our new Chairman and a huge “Thank You” to his predecessor, Phil Wood.

We would like to introduce our new Chairman, Rick Greenfield, and welcome him into the role from the 1st June 2025.

After almost four years in the post during which we have seen the development of the North Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre from its humble beginnings to the fantastic facility that we have today, our previous Chairman, Phil Wood, has decided to step down from the role in the belief that however well things are going it’s a good thing to have a change of leadership once in a while. Make no mistake, Phil will still be a very active member in the management of the group but this change will also free up personal time for Phil. The members recognise and thank him for his deep commitment during his chairmanship.

Rick is a local fella from up the road in Brigg and has himself been with the group since 2021 so he already knows how the group ticks. From an early age he was out and about metal detecting on Lincolnshire’s former airfields (with permission he stresses) and has been involved with aviation and the collection of aviation artifacts for over forty years. For anyone who has already visited the Heritage Centre and seen the displays on show, much of what you see is from Rick’s own collection or has been provided as a result of Rick’s various contacts associated with his long-standing interest. Rick also acts as our curator and is the point of contact for anybody having items that they feel may be of interest to the group.

Rick looks forward to his new role and to continuing the work undertaken so far that has seen the Heritage Centre flourish since its official opening in 2024.
