Coronation Day Open Day on 6th May – A Huge Success

Our Coronation Day open day proved to be really succesful. We had a steady flow of visitors between 11am and 3pm. It was nice to see interest from so many young folk, some finding out for the first time about events that took place on their own doorsteps during the dark days of World War 2, as well as older people with more immediate memories of family members who had served at that time. Hopefully their visits will help to spread the word about what we are achieving at RAF Hibaldstow. All our members who gave up their time to meet and greet visitors and show them round had an enjoyable time and our visitors enthusiasm for the project made it very satisfying. The battle headquarters bunker, memorial site, dig for victory garden and the exhibits in the new huts, as well as the general presentation of the site, drew many positive comments which gives us all a lift.
